Top 3 Hen Party Activities

Being a bridesmaid is a great honour and it is definitely very exiting but unfortunately it also comes with a huge amount of responsibility and let's face it, it involves a good bit of work and stress as well!

One of your first duties as a bridesmaid is to organise the Hen Party. As a matter of fact this is probably the most challenging of all your duties you will have to perform since you will be in charge of pulling it all together and the job will rest mostly, if not entirely on your shoulders...
To keep the stress to a minimum planning and getting organised early is essential, it will save you sleepless nights. Another quick bit of advise: don't be afraid to delegate, people are usually only delighted to help out.

Now, there is no need to panic, organising a hen party can be a lot of fun if you just remember Rule No1: plan ahead! Don't leave it to the last minute.

Before even talking about the top 3 activities in details you could save yourself a lot of time by checking out the all the different dance packages on offer at DancingHen.ie and of course watch Bridesmaid on more time :)

Now let's talk about choosing an activity.
Nowadays the typical hen do starts with an activity and we feel that is definitely a great way to get your party going.
You see, usually a hen party is made up of an eclectic group of girls, in the mix you may have the childhood friends, the college friends, the work friends, the aunt, the mother, the mother in law, the best friend, the used-to-be best friend, the sister in law to be and God knows who else!
A lot of these people won't know each other, and won't even relate to the bride-to-be in the same manner. Some might remember her as the shy girl with big glasses in primary school and some might know her as the party animal in college. You are dealing with different backgrounds and obviously different personalities.

This is why a day time activity is so important. You need to get everyone involved in a common experience preferably something fun! It will give the girls a chance to loosen up, get to know each other and bond before the evening madness starts and it will give them something to talk about at dinner too.

Here are our Top 3 Activities:

3- Cocktail classes: Learn to shake it and enjoy the perfect sex on the beach!

Cocktail classes are always a popular choice, they are easy to organise and the cocktails will definitely help lubricate the party :). Careful though, don't over do it! You don't want to lose control of the group early in the afternoon. If you think some of the women in your group might go over board your best bet is to stay clear of this activity and go straight to the next one in our list. Don't take a chance you could regret it.
If you decide to go ahead, make sure you get a good barman with a nice personality, a strong sense of humour and of course cute as hell! Joking apart it's the barman that will make it or break it for you.

2- Photo shoot: When done right they are great fun.

Some nice music, maybe a nice glass of wine, a little banter and a professional photographer to immortalise the day.
Again this activity is very dependent on getting the right person for the job. We have worked a few times with a photographer in Dublin and she was fantastic! Her name is Dee Organ, check her out.

1- Dance classes: You just can't beat a dance class for your hen party!

It's fun, there is music, everyone gets involved and dancing, it's the perfect icebreaker and warm up act for a great party.
Here again getting the right teacher is most important. We would highly recommend DancingHen.ie, they are very professional and they focus exclusively on hen parties. You might have seen them teaching on "Don't tell the Bride" or "Operation Transformation" this year.

If you have any suggestions about activities for hen dos we would love to hear them!

Regardless of what activity you decide to go for have a fantastic hen weekend and if you are the bridesmaid remember Rule No1: Plan early!
